Guitars
We understand the unique needs of today's "new" more lean industry;
which affords very few guitarists the ability to carry the large contingent of
instruments as was once common. If you are traveling you may not want to risk
your special guitar - that is where we come in.
Of course we have a great selection
of vintage and rare Fender, Gibson, and Martin guitars. And we are quite certain
we will have guitars on hand that will astound you by luthiers you had no idea
existed. GuitarSlam is proud to be the only guitar rental company that represents
a new generation of luthier's acoustic guitars with names like Goodall, Collings,
Froggy Bottom, Bourgeois, Huss and Dalton and McIlroy.
We have pre-war Martins,
parlor guitars from the Twenties and the Gibson custom one of a kind guitar that
Bob Hope's guitarist played during the thirties on, all for rent. You'll have an
opportunity to rent '50s and '60s Fenders or their re-issue brethren if the budget
is tight. Whether it is a hard to find '58 DanElectro Double neck (6/4) or a '50s
Gibson ES-175, or a Brazilian Ramirez A-1, we have hand chosen each guitar for
their own unique voice.
We will have plenty of Brazilian Rosewood classic Martins
from the '60s, lots of awesome sounding '70s D-28s and D-35s if the budget is tight;
what we think is the holy Grail of Gibson Acoustic Guitars (an eerie black sunburst
1959 J45) and more limited edition, crazy old, and O-OO-OOO size Martins than you can
shake a stick at.
We go to great lengths to make sure our guitars are in excellent condition and are as amazing sounding and playing as any guitars you will find. They have all been chosen for their exceptional tone, their outstanding playability, and not for their cosmetics. Many of our guitars have spent time in the rental fleet, and unless noted as "never rented" or "all original", a little real life wear and changed out tuning pegs are very common for our guitars. Note we do maintain a cadre of "pristine" guitars, too. Of course we sell and special order new guitars from our luthiers at McIlroy.
